SME Brexit Support Fund Deadline

The £20 million SME Brexit Support Fund to help small businesses with changes to trade rules with the EU was launched on 15 March 2021. Smaller businesses that are interested in applying for funding from the scheme should be aware that applications close on 30 June 2021 or earlier if all funding is allocated before this date.

The fund is helping businesses to access practical support, including training for new customs, rules of origin and VAT processes. To be eligible, businesses must import or export goods between Great Britain and the EU or move goods between Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The following grants of up to £2,000 are available through the scheme:

1. Grant for Training: The grants can be used to provide training on the following:

  • How to complete customs declarations,
  • How to manage customs processes and use customs software and systems,
  • Specific import and export related aspects including VAT, excise and rules of origin.

2. Grant for Professional Advice: The grant can be used to get professional advice, so your business can meet its customs, excise, import VAT or safety and security declaration requirements.

Please get in touch with your usual FC contact to ensure they can help before the upcoming deadline. Alternately, email hello@farnellclarke.co.uk or get in touch here.
